Yes, he has a year to wait, but he can practice driving it as soon as gets his permit and

can do some work on it while he waits…

very impatiently….LOL

Needless to say, he is THRILLED

We were blessed with a beautiful Easter Weekend!

Lady bug, Lady Bug.....

I was so relieved to have rain-free weather, I even let the kids begin their vacation a day early!

LAX & Bikes

Matty had his first LAX game of the season, and we couldn’t have asked for a nicer morning!

This is his first year as Goalie!

To celebrate the first game, the coaches & parents put together a family BBQ!

Easter Sunday was relaxing. Matty was Worship Leader at our Church Service. We then swapped our Easter clothes for shorts and spent the rest of the day outside! Mom and Dad had an Egg Hunt for the kids, and then we enjoyed a delish Easter Dinner!

Just writing this post makes me chuckle..hehe

Over at our Church, we have these great Lenten Family Night’s every Wednesday. We enjoy a meal together, break off into age groups for fun, learning, and crafts & then wrap it up in the Sanctuary with Hymm Sing-a -Longs along with Grace and her Piano. We are also practicing with our kids for 3 different plays they will perform as a Sermon on Palm Sunday! How cool is that??!!! It is such fun! I wish we had these nights more often than just for the Lenten season. All three of my kids look forward to this all week long! What a wonderful place for them to want to go and connect with our “family”! We see friends we don’t usually get to sit and chat with after Sunday service, and we get to have this fellowship over delicious food!!! Yes, I know, spoken like a true Methodist 🙂

Which leads me to my funny memory. During family night last week, my daughter begins to follow/stalk me with a video camera (the GAP kids are making a video for Palm Sunday service) She finally gets in front of me and says ” ok, fill in the blank. Got___???” So, my first thought comes out…”Got Dinner?” Okay, unless you had the misfortune to see the video of the Pumpkin Olympics where again I am faced with that darn video camera and I am captured rattling off all the delicious goodies I have consumed at this fun get- together, you wouldn’t fully understand… Let’s put it this way..I love GOD & I love FOOD 🙂

Annoyed,

Frustrated,

Ticked Off…..

Take your pick

*BEWARE*  this is a major VENT

Matty needed a “Re-Cert” for Lacrosse. For those who don’t know, a Re-cert is just a slip a paper signed by the doc that is used each sport season between the year the actual Physical was taken. It states that he hasn’t had any problems since the last physical and that he is still cleared for sports. So I drop off to the Pedi, first thing Monday AM…call Tuesday AM, still not ready. SO I head there later that day around 2pm, nothing but I will wait. I am now running out of office to run it back to school so he doesn’t miss any valuable practice time. (He is now playing GOALIE!)

When I get in the car, I see the wrong info on the paper! They used my wrong son to fill out the Re-cert! Which is annoying for two reasons 1) It has the wrong original physical date, which would nullify the re-cert, so it HAS to be corrected and 2) it is a bit concerning that they did not notice that my 7yr old son was playing Varsity Lacrosse??? What else do they miss? Yes, I know they are human, mistakes happen, but Geez..not today. So back in I go. Now they are all pointing fingers and arguing behind the desk, which leads to a very uncomfortable situation. But it is corrected and I am back on my way…

Well, Practice just ended, and he comes home and says this isn’t good enough! WHAT??!! They don’t have his current physical on file, a new one needs to be done! Fisrt off, they had to have the new one for Football, Second it clearly stated when his last physical was taken on his amended re-cert..so that means that they LOST it! It’s not the money …the forms just need to be re-filled out by the pedi because he does have a current physical, but it will now take DAYS to fix! The pedi office will have me wait a minimum of 3 days easy! Then it needs to be verified by the school physician…Un-freakin-believable! Like I have nothing better to do, than run around like a mad woman and the worst of it? HE is missing practice!

*Edit* I have decided a little Cone Zone always makes it better 🙂

Have you seen my son?

He answers to Matt, Matthew, Matt-man, and most affectionately.. Matty.

Only a few months have gone by since I swaddled and rocked him to sleep, smelling his sweet baby scent.

I believe it was just last week, we registered for Kindergarten and then came home and snuggled together on the couch with a 4pc Happy Meal that filled his tummy to the brim .

Just a few days ago, he couldn’t pronounce his “R” sounds and I was his Valentine.

And it was just yesterday that he graduated 8th grade and was ready for High School.

Now there is a young man residing here, who answers to all the names listed above, but he is a whole head taller than me, shaves every day, eats every meal like it was his last and pronounces his R’s just fine. He has a hysterical sense of humor and is  great role model to the younger ones of the household.

But this handsome young man can’t be my Matty

although he does sit fairly close to me on the couch, and he does end a phone call to me with an I love you….

On second thought, I think I will hang on to this special, caring young man..as long as he will let me 🙂
